Terminal desk or shuttle? Check whether pickup is inside the terminal or requires a shuttle. After a long flight, an in-terminal desk can be worth paying slightly more.
02 · Excess and deposit
Check both before booking. The insurance excess and card deposit vary widely by company and are often easy to miss until the final booking steps.

Most rental brands belong to a few large groups and often share cars, counters, and parking lots. A cheaper brand may provide the same car with stricter terms. Compare the final price, pickup location, excess, and deposit — not only the daily rate.
