TRIP OVERVIEW
Day 1 – Parque das Aves · Itaipu Dam · Iguaçu Falls — Brazilian Side
Day 2 – Parque Nacional Iguazú — Lower and Upper Circuits · Garganta del Diablo · Marco das Três Fronteiras
Day 1
From Hotel: 🚕 5 min → Parque das Aves
1. Parque das Aves
Walk-through aviaries holding more than 1,400 birds across 200 species — toucans, scarlet macaws, flamingos, and the largest harpy eagle enclosure open to the public in Brazil. The free-flight aviaries place visitors inside the habitat. The bird park sits immediately beside the national park entrance.

2. Itaipu Dam
The dam on the Paraná River that powered approximately 17% of Brazil's electricity for decades. The panoramic tour places visitors on the crest of the structure — 196 metres high, 8 kilometres wide — with direct views over the spillway into the gorge below. The scale does not register until standing on it.

3. Iguaçu Falls — Brazilian Side
A 1.2-kilometre elevated walkway gives unbroken panoramic views of 275 individual falls. The path descends to a platform at the base of Salto Floriano — where spray is continuous and the sound fills the gorge. The Brazilian side gives the full picture of the system in a single sightline.

Day 2
From Hotel: 🚕 45 min → Parque Nacional Iguazú — Lower and Upper Circuits
1. Parque Nacional Iguazú — Lower and Upper Circuits
The Lower Circuit is a 1.5-kilometre loop at falls level — catwalks over the river, spray from all directions, direct views of the largest drops. The Upper Circuit crosses from above on a 650-metre walkway with aerial views into the gorge. Both circuits together are the complete Argentine experience.

2. Garganta del Diablo
A catwalk extends 1.1 km over the Iguazú River to the rim of a canyon where 14 falls drop 82 metres in a continuous curtain. Standing at the platform means standing above the largest water concentration in the system — the sound and mist make conversation impossible. A permanent double rainbow sits below.
Garganta del Diablo — Devil's Throat horseshoe canyon at Iguazu Falls, Argentina
3. Marco das Três Fronteiras
The confluence of the Iguaçu and Paraná rivers where Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay share a border. A green obelisk marks the Brazilian point; Argentina's blue-and-white marker and Paraguay's red one are visible across the water. Each country positions its own monument at its bank of the confluence.

✨ The Same Water, Different Country

The falls sit on the border. The Brazilian side gives you the full panorama — the entire arc at once, every fall in sequence. The Argentine side gives you the interior — spray, catwalks over the water, the feeling of being inside the system rather than outside looking in. Both countries have made the most of what their angle of the border gives them. The two days in this guide are not repetitive. They are the same subject seen from opposite positions, and the difference turns out to matter.
