Stay cut: Thailand's visa-free stay was reduced from 60 to 30 days effective July 2026 (Royal Gazette published). Plan accordingly — overstays incur fines.

🇸🇬 Singapore90 days Singapore File the free SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before arrival.

🇱🇰 Sri Lanka30 days Colombo Apply for the free Sri Lanka ETA at eta.gov.lk before arrival. Grants a 30-day stay, extendable once in-country.

🇰🇷 South Korea90 days Seoul K-ETA is waived for US citizens through Dec 31, 2026 — file the free e-Arrival Card instead. From Jan 1, 2027 the paid K-ETA becomes mandatory.

Travel authorization — apply online before you fly ETA 3 destinations

A paid electronic permit (ETA) you must get approved before boarding. Not a visa — usually approved fast online or via an app.

🇬🇧 United KingdomUK ETA Cambridge · Edinburgh · Glasgow · London · Oxford Required since Feb 25, 2026 for US citizens. £20, approved in minutes via the UK ETA app, valid 2 years, stays up to 6 months. Also covers Northern Ireland.

🇦🇺 AustraliaETA (601) Melbourne · Sydney ETA subclass 601 via the Australian ETA app. AUD 20, multiple entries for 1 year, up to 90 days per visit.

🇳🇿 New ZealandNZeTA Queenstown · Wellington NZeTA (NZD 17 app / 23 web) plus the mandatory IVL tourism levy (NZD 100 since Oct 2024), paid together. Valid 2 years, up to 90 days per visit.

eVisa — apply online before travel eVisa 5 destinations

A paid electronic visa applied for online before travel. Approved digitally — no embassy visit needed.

Apply at brazil.vfsevisa.com — about US$80.90, usually issued within about 10 business days (apply well ahead), multiple-entry valid up to 10 years, 90 days per visit. Airlines check it at boarding.

🇱🇦 LaoseVisa Luang Prabang Apply at laoevisa.gov.la — 30-day single-entry tourist eVisa, ~USD 50, typically approved within 3 business days. Visa on arrival (~USD 35) also available at Luang Prabang International Airport.

🇻🇳 VietnameVisa Hanoi · Hoi An Apply at evisa.gov.vn — 90-day single-entry ~US$25 or multiple-entry ~US$50, processed in 3–5 business days. Visa on arrival also available at international airports with a pre-approved letter. US citizens are not covered by Vietnam's 45-day visa exemption and need this eVisa for mainland travel. The one carve-out: Phú Quốc island allows a 30-day visa-free stay if you arrive there directly from abroad. Vietnam has 83 international entry points accepting eVisa holders.

🇪🇬 EgypteVisa · $30 Cairo Apply online at visa2egypt.gov.eg — US$30, approved in 24–72 hours; apply at least 5 days before travel. Visa on arrival (also US$30 since March 2026) is available at Cairo International Airport, but the pre-arranged eVisa is faster.

🇮🇩 IndonesiaVisa on arrival Bali Visa on arrival at major airports (Ngurah Rai/Bali, etc.) — IDR 500,000 (~US$33), 30 days, extendable once for 30 more days. Cash or card at the airport counter before immigration, or apply for the e-VoA online beforehand. Bali arrivals also pay a separate Bali Tourist Levy (IDR 150,000, ~US$10).

🇯🇴 Jordan40 JOD (~$56) Petra US citizens receive a single-entry visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) and most border crossings. Valid for 30 days. Consider the Jordan Pass — if you plan to visit Petra, the pass covers the visa fee and Petra entry ticket when purchased before arrival and staying a minimum of 3 nights.

🇳🇵 Nepal15 / 30 / 90 days Pokhara US citizens can get a Tourist Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) or land borders — USD 30 (15 days), USD 50 (30 days), or USD 125 (90 days). Apply online in advance at online.nepalimmigration.gov.np to save time at arrival.

🇧🇹 BhutanVisa required Paro All visitors (except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals) must obtain a Bhutan Visa through the Department of Immigration at doi.gov.bt. A Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of USD 100/day applies. A 5% GST on tourism services (hotels, guides, transport — excl. SDF) took effect January 1, 2026. Visa is processed online before arrival.

🇨🇳 ChinaVisa needed Beijing · Chongqing · Shanghai · Zhangjiajie US citizens need a tourist visa arranged in advance. (A 240-hour / 10-day visa-free transit exists only if you're continuing to a third country and entering/exiting via eligible ports — not for a round-trip China visit.)

🇬🇪 GeorgiaUp to 365 days No visa needed — US citizens enter visa-free for up to a year per visit (see Entry Requirements tab). No formal digital nomad visa program required. Tbilisi is one of the most established nomad hubs: low cost of living, fast internet, no Georgian income tax on foreign-sourced income for short stays.
