Museum City Cards & Attraction Passes

When a city card pays for itself, and when it doesn't.

Compares Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Vienna, Prague, Rome, Bruges, Ljubljana, Copenhagen and Lisboa — price, what each includes, and what it excludes. Some bundle unlimited public transit and some don't, skip-the-line value depends heavily on the season you travel in, and one of the ten (Vienna) is a discount card, not a free-entry one — worth knowing before you buy any of them. Separate from Tour & Ticket Booking Platforms, which covers pre-packaged guided tours rather than self-directed passes.

Included Free entry to 50+ museums and monuments on their permanent collections — the Louvre, Château de Versailles (Palace & Gardens), Musée d'Orsay, Arc de Triomphe and Sainte-Chapelle among them — plus fast-track entry at most included sites. Temporary exhibitions cost extra even where the venue is covered.
Cost 2-day €85 · 4-day €105 · 6-day €125, adult full price. The Louvre still requires its own free timed-entry reservation even with the pass.
Not included The Eiffel Tower is not covered at all — always a separate ticket. The pass carries no public transport.
Card pays off when Louvre + Versailles Palace + Musée d'Orsay already runs close to €85 in separate tickets, so a third flagship site on a 2-day trip is close to a wash and a fourth is a clear win. Skip-the-line matters most April–September; lines are short most winters.
Buy Buy from the official site or an authorized sales point. Online and reseller service fees can vary, so compare the final checkout total.

Included Free entry to 70+ museums and attractions — the Rijksmuseum, NEMO Science Museum, Stedelijk Museum and ARTIS Zoo among them — plus unlimited GVB transit (tram/bus/metro/ferry), one canal cruise and a day's bike rental.
Cost 24h €67 · 48h €94 · 72h €115, adult Total Experience price. Longer 96h and 120h options are also available.
Not included The Van Gogh Museum (removed from the card in 2022) and the Anne Frank House are not covered — Amsterdam's two most in-demand sights, both needing their own advance timed ticket.
Card pays off when The Rijksmuseum plus the included canal cruise already covers most of the 24h price; add NEMO or the day's bike rental and it clears it. Skip-the-line is soft here — it's tap-to-enter, not a formal fast lane, and doesn't reach the two sights with the worst queues.
Buy Buy online or at the I amsterdam Store. Purchasing ahead does not start the clock: you choose when to activate the digital card, while the physical card starts on first use.

Included Unlimited metro/bus/tram/commuter rail, airport included, plus free entry to 25+ museums — Museu Picasso, MNAC and Fundació Joan Miró among them — and assorted dining and shopping discounts.
Cost 48h €39 · 72h €59 · 96h €69 · 120h €79, adult full price before the official store's advertised online discount.
Not included Sagrada Família and Park Güell — the city's two most-visited sights — are not included. Buy their timed tickets separately, and check the official card list rather than assuming any Gaudí sight carries a discount.
Card pays off when It works best when you plan several included museums across three or more days and would otherwise buy a multi-day transit pass. Price the Gaudí headliners separately before deciding.
Buy Turisme de Barcelona's official store advertises a 10% online discount. The card is also sold through city tourist-information offices.
Vienna, Austria Transit included

Included Unlimited U-Bahn/tram/bus for the card's duration, plus discounted — never free — admission at 200+ museums, attractions, restaurants and shops, including Schönbrunn Palace and the Belvedere.
Cost 24h €19 · 48h €31 · 72h €37 · 7 days €39, adult full price.
Not included Nothing is free with this card. Unlike every other card here, it's built as transit-plus-discounts rather than free entry — it will surprise anyone expecting the Paris or Amsterdam model.
Card pays off when A standalone 24h Vienna transit ticket costs €10.20, leaving €8.80 to recover through discounts on the 24h card. Check the current discounts for your planned attractions; this card never replaces their admission tickets.
Buy Buy through the official Vienna tourism site, app, or an authorized sales point. Activation and collection options depend on whether you choose the digital or physical card.
Prague, Czechia Transit included
Prague Visitor Pass

Included Unlimited metro/tram/bus/trolleybus/ferry, including the airport transfer, plus free entry to 70+ experiences — the Prague Castle circuit, Old Town Hall & Astronomical Clock tower, Jewish Quarter, a Vltava river cruise and a hop-on-hop-off historic tram.
Cost 48h 2,700 CZK · 72h 3,300 CZK · 120h 3,900 CZK, adult full price.
Not included Anything absent from the current pass catalogue is separate, and each included experience is generally limited to one visit. Check the official app before relying on a specific exhibition or temporary experience.
Card pays off when The Castle circuit plus the Jewish Quarter alone run to roughly half the 48h price — this pass earns the rest back through the included river cruise, the hop-on-hop-off tram and unlimited transit rather than pure museum-stacking. Skip-the-line matters at the Castle and Petřín Tower in summer, far less November–February.
Buy Same price online, via the app, or at Prague City Tourism desks (Old Town Hall, Wenceslas Square, Rytířská) — buying ahead mainly avoids the ticket-office queue.

Included Unlimited bus/tram/metro for the card's duration, free entry to one site (48h) or two (72h) from participating museums and monuments — the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine combo among them — plus reduced admission at further sites once the free entries are used.
Cost 48h €36.50 · 72h €58.50, adult full price. The Colosseum and Borghese Gallery still require advance reservations even with the pass.
Not included The Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's Basilica are not covered — Vatican City is a separate country, the single most common misunderstanding about this pass.
Card pays off when The Colosseum/Forum/Palatine combo ticket alone runs close to the 48h price once transit is counted in; a second free entry on the 72h tier plus one discounted stop clears it. Lines run 1–2 hours at the Colosseum June–September, far shorter in winter.
Buy Buy through romapass.it, the app, or an official Tourist Infopoint. Attraction reservations are separate from the pass purchase, so secure required timed slots as soon as your plans are firm.

Included One free entry each, within 72 hours, to Musea Brugge's sites — including the Belfry, Groeningemuseum, Gruuthusemuseum, the Sint-Janshospitaal Memling collection, Stadhuis and the new BRUSK exhibition hall.
Cost 72h only: €49 adult · €37 under 26 · €25 under 18. There is no 24h or 48h tier.
Not included No public transport — but Bruges' old town is compact and walkable enough that this rarely matters. Each site is a single visit only.
Card pays off when The Belfry, Groeningemuseum and Gruuthusemuseum alone run close to the card price; a fourth stop, easy to reach on foot within the 72-hour window, is what clears it.
Buy Same price online (museabrugge.be) and at museum ticket desks — buying ahead just skips the queue at your first stop, usually the Belfry.
Ljubljana, Slovenia Transit included
Ljubljana Card

Included Unlimited LPP city buses, the funicular and admission up to Ljubljana Castle, a guided Old Town walking tour, a Ljubljanica river boat cruise, and free entry to 30+ sites — plus, unusually for a card this size, a cable car ride to Velika Planina outside the city.
Cost 24h €41 · 48h €49 · 72h €54, adult full price.
Not included Plečnik House, a major architecture sight, still needs its own advance booking even with the card. Every included site is a single visit.
Card pays off when The Castle-and-funicular ticket plus the river cruise alone run close to the 24h price before a single bus ride is counted — the included walking tour and the Velika Planina cable car push it clearly into savings from there. Queues here are rarely long even in summer; this is a bundling card, not a time-saving one.
Buy Buy through the official Visit Ljubljana page or at a Tourist Information Centre. Confirm the checkout total and collection method before paying.
Copenhagen, Denmark Transit included

Included Free entry to 80+ Capital Region attractions — Rosenborg Castle, Christiansborg Palace, the National Museum of Denmark and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek among them — plus unlimited transit including the airport metro. Children aged 3–11 need a paid KIDS card; each adult can accompany up to two KIDS-card holders.
Cost 24h 589 DKK · 48h 859 DKK · 72h 1,039 DKK, adult Discover tier. A city-focused Hop tier also exists with different attractions and hop-on-hop-off buses instead of regional public transport.
Not included Tivoli Gardens is garden admission only — rides are extra even with the card. Rosenborg means swapping the card for a timed ticket at the counter rather than walking straight in, and Denmark's national museums are no longer free general admission on their own.
Card pays off when Rosenborg, Christiansborg's Royal Reception Rooms and the National Museum together already exceed the 24h card price before counting transit — a fourth stop or Tivoli's garden entry is a clear win from there. Lines build at Tivoli and Rosenborg June–August; short the rest of the year.
Buy The card is 100% digital: buy on the official website or in the app, then activate it only when you are ready to start. Internet is required for activation, but the activated card works offline.

Included Unlimited metro, Carris buses and trams (Tram 28 included), funiculars, CP trains to Sintra and Cascais, and metro to/from the airport — plus free entry to 50+ museums and monuments, including Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, the National Coach Museum and São Jorge Castle.
Cost 24h €31 · 48h €51 · 72h €62, adult full price. The official shop lists these prices through 31 March 2027 and currently advertises a 5% online discount.
Not included Several included museums and the Santa Justa Lift are temporarily closed for restoration. Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery require a timed reservation made only after collecting the physical card, and capacity is not guaranteed.
Card pays off when It works best when you combine several open included sites with substantial transit use, such as a Sintra or Cascais train trip. Do not base the calculation on Belém Tower or Jerónimos alone: their card-holder slots can sell out.
Buy The official Visit Lisboa shop advertises 5% off online. The emailed voucher must still be exchanged for a physical card at an Ask Me Lisboa desk before use or monument reservations.
