Launch sites from the Alps to the Himalaya, the Andes and the Rift Valley — mountains, sea cliffs and desert escarpments where the air works often enough to plan a trip around. Most fly on a season: an Alpine site is a summer site, a Colombian or Moroccan one is a European-winter site, and the biggest names in each country are usually the ones with a lift or a road to the launch rather than a two-hour walk.
