Distance and time-of-day based; peak surcharge Mon–Fri 06:45–08:00 and 16:15–17:30. Use the fare calculator at myciti.org.za. MyCiTi does not cover Metrorail or Golden Arrow buses.
The myconnect card (redesigned February 2026) is required for all MyCiTi buses — R40 non-refundable card fee, load "Mover points" separately at station kiosks. The network covers the CBD, Waterfront, Sea Point, Table View, Hout Bay, and the airport. Bank card tap-to-ride validators were rolling out in 2026; check myciti.org.za for current status. Metrorail commuter trains and Golden Arrow buses use separate payment systems.
